Great question!  I have spent over 25 years repairing homes and building custom furniture with my company Custom Creations.  I had a fantastic time doing this and learned a great deal about homes.

The reason I got into real estate was because I saw a need.  I was repairing people's houses and realized that they had overpaid for inferior quality homes.  These are homes in high priced neighborhoods!  I recognized that I wanted to help my friends find great homes using this experience.

There are a lot of great homes out there, but unfortunately, a lot of poor quality ones as well.  Telling the difference takes years of experience.
